Inclusion is our way of life! All people, with or without disabilities are welcome and fully included in valued roles. We refer to staff as Mentors and our clients are Participants. Both engage in life-sharing activities and support each other. Our Day program allows all individuals to participate in the daily on-site activities and participate in the community to the best of their ability.

MEDICAID WAIVER: we operate as a home and community-based services program (HCBS) for youth and adults with developmental disabilities through Medicaid Waiver.

We provide different levels of support through Adult Day Health (ADH), Personal Assistance (PAB),

CLSI (1 to 1 ratio individual service hours), CLSG (1 to 3 ratio, group service hours) depending upon

the I.S.P. (Individual Service Plan) of each participant.

Our Country Store is Thriving—Participants harvest a variety of items to sell and sell to locals and tourists! It is just one of the various activities we have here at La’akea Village.

At Morning Circle everyone has an opportunity to check-in and identify their feelings and their needs for the day. Non-verbal participants are supported as well.

Power tools and Projects!

We are helping to build planter boxes to sell in our Country Store1

Depot Market on Main street in Kahului employs several La’akea Village participants to work in the store. With their Mentor support, participants can successfully have jobs in the community.

We encourage Participants to seek employment if that is their Goal and we support them in their endeavors to fill out applications, interview and work!
